In this forum, Un_Mouton put forward an idea that the championship rules be changed "I would like to propose an alternative where we allow everyone to submit their times for any race at a recognised distance (eg Marathon, Half, 10M, 10K, 5M, 5K), and each member's best time of the year counts in each points table."
What do you think?
Note this is an example of a binary poll - each choice is restricted to an "on / off" type answer. In this case you are also only allowed to select one choice
Do you think we should set up a proper poll to allow people to vote on at least some of the races which should be included in the 2008 Championship?
An example of how a poll may be used to vote for which races should be included.
Vote for two of the following 10K races to be in next years Championship.
Note this is also a binary poll - each choice is restricted to an "on / off" type answer. In this case you are also only allowed to select up two choices. Polls can have a fixed start / finish date - polling is only allowed in between these dates. I've set the duration here for 1 week for a test.
Another example of how a poll may be used to vote for which races should be included.
The Committee has decided that 'Race X' will be one Marathon Championship race in 2008. Select here as many choices as you'd like for your rankings on what you think should be the other Marathon in the Championship.
Note this is a ranking poll - each choice can be given a "rank" in terms of preference. This creates a "vote" with points awarded to each case depending on the ranks - see Borda count for more information. Cases can also be limited as in Vote 3, in this case all choices can be selected. If something about a poll doesn't make sense and you are a registered user, you can post a comment to the poll.
