401 Festival of Running Bright Lights 10k - 26 Aug 2017.
A brand new event for 2017 - the 401 Foundation Festival of Running. A series of runs over two days, with a 500m dash and 1 mile run race for the younger runners as well as a 5k, Bright Lights 10k and Half Marathon distance available for the adults. Why not test yourself and take on ‘The 401 Foundation Challenge’ and complete all three distance events and receive a special challenge medal! All routes take place in and around Portishead near Bristol. The Saturday evening event will include The Young 401 Club Challenge (a 500m dash), The 401 One Mile Dash along with The 401 Bright Lights 10k. Followed by The 401 After Party, with food and music til 10pm! Come dressed in your favourite bright clothes and light accessories to help illuminate the course! Sunday will see The 401 5k, as well as another chance for The Young 401 Club Challenge (a 500m dash) and The 401 One Mile Dash, a great chance to do the double! And for those with enough energy, we offer The 401 Half Marathon! The 401 Foundation carries on the legacy of the 401 Challenge set by Ben Smith from Portishead, who raised over £330,000 for charity, raising awareness of bullying in the UK.

Englefield 10k - 27 Aug 2017.
The multi-terrain 10k course, in the beautiful setting of Englefield Estate near Theale, is now a major event in the running calendar. Well over 300 registered to run last year.
It is also offers a family day out with a 3.5k course for under-15s and a family "Treasure Hunt" walk round the park whilst the races are on so everyone can enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The private Berkshire estate is opened for the event by kind permission of the Benyon family.
Organised by The Rotary Club of Reading Abbey and Tadley Runners, 100% of the money raised goes to charity.

Harwell Half - 28 Aug 2017.
The route starts off flat and then gently undulates along footpaths, bridleways, and tracks up onto the Ridgeway National Path from where you can enjoy some stunning views of the rolling Oxfordshire countryside.

Altogether a better way to spend a Bank Holiday Monday!

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10K - September - 02 Sep 2017.
Where: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London, E20 3HB

Timing: RFID chip timed, a new chip will be provided at each race.

Course: Mainly Flat with some tight turns and slight undulations. - Measured under UK Athletics Rules. Download Course Map

Maidenhead Half - 03 Sep 2017.
A great opportunity to run on closed roads on a fast, flat course! Voted 3rd in the 'PB POTENTIAL' category in Runners World Races of the Year 2013 Awards. Suitable for beginners, PB-Hunters and competitive athletes alike.
This road race has been designed to showcase the glorious scenery around Maidenhead and will rival all other local half marathons. A town centre half marathon on a flat, fast & traffic free road course. The route will start and finish in Maidenhead town centre and take a scenic route through the surrounding areas.
With a town centre start and a two-lap course, this is a great spectator-friendly course. There is plenty going on for runners and spectators alike with local businesses offering coffee, lunch and general shopping - an ideal time to make a day of it and stay around for lunch/shopping afterwards.

47th Chiltern Marathon - 10 Sep 2017.
The 47th Chiltern Marathon will take place this year on Sunday 10th September 2017, starting at Lane End Village Hall, HP14 3EY. This annual Marathon is not a race but a Challenge for the individual to complete within 9 hours. Distance will be a full 26+ miles with an alternative of approximately 20 miles, serviced by 3 checkpoints with drinks and biscuits, in addition to the refreshments available at the village hall. The Marathon is open to both runners and walkers but with different start times. The route changes each year and is mostly confined to the footpaths and bridleways in the wooded Chiltern Hills.

This Marathon was started by members of the Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA) and is not sponsored or profit making. The modest entry charge of £5.00 in advance or £7.00 on the day is to pay the costs. Past individual entries have had themselves sponsored for various charities.

More information, and an entry form, can be obtained at the website www.chilternmarathon.org.uk . This year’s route has not yet been finalised but will be posted on line when it is.

Great North Run - 10 Sep 2017.
Broadcast live on the BBC, the Simplyhealth Great North Run, on Sunday 10 September, sees thousands of runners take on the half marathon challenge every year. Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne the 13.1 mile course is lined with supporters all the way from the iconic Tyne Bridge, right out towards the coast in South Shields.
Since 1981 the world's biggest half marathon has welcomed over one million people across the finish line in South Shields and we're looking forward to cheering on the next million.

Swallowfield 10k (Championship) - 17 Sep 2017.
The 10K is a sensational measured road race through rural Berkshire countryside. Starting in Swallowfield village the route passes along quiet country roads to Farley Hill and then back along country lanes to Swallowfield Parish Hall. Every competitor completing the course will receive a finishers medal. There will be special awards for the fastest in class. Once again, the roads will be closed to through traffic in Swallowfield.

Rutherford Appleton 5k - 08 Oct 2017.
SUNDAY 8 OCTOBER, 10:30am (1.5km Family Fun Run), 11:00am (5km/10km) – RUTHERFORD APPLETON LABORATORY

Back for the FOURTH year on the run…..this unique race follows a route through Harwell Oxford Science and Innovation Campus on roads usually out of bounds to the public and offers a close-up view of well-known landmarks such as the Diamond sychrotron radiation facility.

No headphones to be worn at any time during the event — this is for your own safety and the safety of other competitors. We will disqualify any competitor we find wearing headphones.

Rutherford Appleton 10k - 08 Oct 2017.

Chicago Marathon - 08 Oct 2017.
Running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon is the pinnacle of achievement for elite athletes and everyday runners alike. On race day, runners from all 50 states and more than 100 countries will set out to accomplish a personal dream by reaching the finish line in Grant Park.

Tadley 10 Mile (Championship) - 15 Oct 2017.
The Reverse 10 Mile race will take place on Sunday 15th October 2017, 10am at the Hurst Community College, Brimpton Road, Baughurst, Tadley, Hampshire, RG26 5NL.

Now in its 12th year the Tadley 10 Mile has grown from its modest beginnings of 71 entrants and 59 finishers in 2006 to nearly 300 entrants and 250 finishers.

The course is a single loop of 10 miles over quiet, pretty country lanes on the Hampshire –Berkshire borders, which will alternate in direction every other year. The course is accurately measured and is well marked and marshalled. There are drinks stations at approx 3, 6 and 8 miles ands at the finish.

The Race HQ is at the Hurst Leisure Centre where there are ample parking and changing facilities and an on-site caterer.

Great South Run - 22 Oct 2017.
The fast and flat course of the world's leading 10 mile running event takes you through the iconic sights of Southsea and Portsmouth, including the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, home of HMS Victory, past Spinnaker Tower, and finishes on the seafront with beautiful views of the Isle of Wight.
The weekend also includes the Simplyhealth Great South Run 5k and the Simplyhealth Junior and Mini Great South Run, which are staged the day before the 10 mile event.

The Mapledurham Ten gives you a perfect challenge over either our 10k or 10 Mile courses. In typical My Sporting Times style, the courses will give you a mixture of surfaces to cover, most likely some mud and some ups and downs too. Check out the courses tab above for further details of the routes.

Once again for 2017, the Mapledurham Ten kicks of the winter trail run series in fine style. The series is of course completed with the Muddy Welly on December 17th and the classic Gut Buster on December 31st.

We will need volunteers by the bucketload as well as food to feed all the hungry runners post race so anyone who doesn't fancy running we still need your help!!

please also ask friends and family to come along and support our event by marshalling and cheering on the runners - we ALWAYS have the best spread of food and the most enthusiastic marshals - lets make sure it continues
